Finding: old-growth forest logging planned.

Road construction and logging plans in a state-owned Natura 2000 area. The area of Raesärkkä is an important recreation area with scenic forests and clear lakes surrounded by natural peatlands. Local people have collected a petition for protecting the forests.

Logging may start in the autumn of 2001.
