Finding: logging planned in an area important for developing the forest protection network in southern Finland.

A logging plan of 10 hectares in a high conservation value, state-owned forest area. Several threatened species live in the area, among them the flying squirrel (Pteromys volans).

Finnish environmental NGOs consider the area valuable for supplementary protection of the forests in southern Finland.

Logging will take place in the winter of 2001.
